Colin Perkel retired in 2021 after 33 years as a senior journalist with The Canadian Press. He has carried out a wide variety of assignments over the years, including spending six months over three tours with the Canadian Forces in Afghanistan. He has covered national security issues, courts, politics, and military commission proceedings in Guantanamo Bay. He has also reported from Germany, South Africa, Grenada and the U.S. He routinely worked in five media: print, radio, video, photography and social.
